    Gladiolus

This picture was taken in late June just after sunrise using a Sony FD Mavia with a +2 diopter. The only editing was a little bit contrast in PS. All thoughts and comments are welcome.

    Thanks,
    Sharon

Sharon, it's fabulous.I love the softness of it and the way the light filters through the petals. It seriously is a beautiful piece. Others may think it needs something but I think it's perfect just as is.

Very soft delicate image with beautiful muted colors. While I generally perfer a sharper more defined image when I do macros, you have achieved a very artsy look, if I have a nit, it's I might perfer to see the colors toned down slightly in the highlight areas. Very nice job.

I like the subject, and the framing is ok. I am not good with the noise and softness of the image, but it is still pleasing. Looks like would be a good print on a textured watercolor paper.

    Hi Kit,

Thank you very much for your comments! It was a beautiful flower and I hope I did it justice.

    Thanks again!

Thank you! I was trying to capture the soft color of the flower. I do have a question though. If I tone down the colors in the highlighted areas, might I not lose some of the subtle details of the flower petals and the depth?

    Thanks for your comments!

    Hi Gary,

The softness was what I was going for to match the softness of the flower itself. The noise is perhaps from the limitations of the camera itself though I might try to remove some in PS. I do like your suggestion of paper choice for printing this image.

    Thanks for commenting!
