    Glacier lake

Woke up one morning (why didn't i force myself to wake up at sunset again?) to see Cosley lake glassy still with stoney indian mountain perfectly reflected in it. Let me know what you think of the framing especially, but also any other critiques.

    Hi Dylan

Personally i would've moved in front of the driftwood and gone in the water with my tripod and framed the shot to the right as the sun looks as though it's on your left, the left frame side is dark, so by moving to the right you would get the trees, river and reflections, mountains all in a nicely lit frame.I think the driftwood does distract the eye from following the river up to the mountains, otherwise nice clean shot.

I like it. Though I wish the green trees on the right weren't there. I can imagine a shot of the distant and left side landscape. that would've been much more simpler, cleaner and more effective i think. other than that, love the scene here. beautiful place.

    Re: Glacier lake

    thanks for the comments.

abel- i tried several different framing options with out the drift wood and i think it pulls the foreground in to the shot more. Unfortunately wading in to the lake was pretty much not possible. besides the rediculously cold water ( we did jump in to bathe- maybe around 40 degree) after about 5 feet it dropped off really quick, well past waist deep.

leels- this was just about the only, and by far biggest shore on the lake with out massive vegetation.

Good looking shot. Getting the water to frame the shot may have helped, but that is not always possible.
