    Girl by the River

Well I hope you guys are not getting bored with my models! LOL!! Yes this is my girl by a river over our last vacation in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico.

Minimal editing was made the most significant worth mentioning was some selective sharpening on her.

I might quibble with the exact placement of the girl, but that would be petty. This is a beautiful shot.

Lovely and must be a fav of yours with it being your daughter.
Only nit I have is I'd prefer less at bottom and more at top.

I like it. I think the camera's choice of focus let you down a little. It focused on the rocks in the foreground, rather than your daughter. I'm not sure what your level of experience with your camera is, but many focus focus on the subject, hold the shutter halfway to keep the setting and shift the camera for he composition they want.

    Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, this autofocus thing seems to have a mind of its own sometimes! Thats why I did selective sharpening on her to compensate for that.

Very nice. I wasn't sure initially because (initially) there doesn't seem to be a lot going on in the central area of the picture, but it grew on me as I looked at it - the ripples are subtle but fill it out well. Of course we can't know what's not in the frame, but it makes me wonder how it would have worked from slightly different angles and / or lower point of view, keeping that red rock and the girl on a diagonal.

    Re: Girl by the River

Love the overall shot. But this being the critique forum, this is what I would correct. The overexposure of the rocks in the foreground draw my eyes to the rocks rather than your girl. An easy fix in ps useing the burn brush. A 2 degree tilt to the right, unsharp mask to the forground rocks.. 1 pixel 90% can never go wrong and a crop to the bottom of the red rock to the left side of the top right rock. Midtones down a bit might help pull my eye to your subject as well. But in reality...its beautifull, and a great memory captured.
