Getting ready for work...

Recently spent two weeks in Mallorca Spain - while visiting one of the cathedrals this fellow was getting ready for his day of work - let me know what you think. The whole trip I shot RAW and on Manual with my Nikon D70s, 18-200mm DX VR lense - so was a learnign experience to say the least.

I havent retouhced this at this point - some minor cropping to frame it better

I really like this photo - my only critique are the modern fixtures at the top - loose them and its good to go.

I like the subtle browns that work through the photo. The composition is well caught with the way the artist is sat preparing and looking in the mirror with the items strewn around him.

i agree with Roger on this one, loose the light things. this picture has a nice tone to it. its very easy to look at. another thing id say is to maybe crop him a bit tighter.

Nice candid shot. Hate to be repetitive but if you crop out the light fixtures and lose half the foreground I think the shot is better. Great lighting and colors. Good job!

This is a tough one! I really, really like this picture and although I agree that in an ideal world you wouldn't have those modern fittings, the whole picture works for me precisely because the big door is there in its entirety. Maybe a little cloning would work, but I wouldn't crop it (except for maybe a little off the bottom). It's a good one!

This is a great shot...I really like it! I'm with the others about the fixtures at the top, but definitely go for cloning rather than cropping...I like the 6 above the door. Such a cool moment captured.

If you wouldnt mind, I'd like to try and edit out the lights that everybody is talking about, but I wont without your permission. I'd like to do it just for a comparison.

I think this is a very good shot. I like his facial expressions that say he takes his job seriously, even though its a light hearted job that people laugh at and enjoy. Good eye! good shot! Sounds like a great trip!

I may be wrong about this, but even the modern artifacts on top cloned out, i think there is something else to it.

I love the mood of the picture, the colors and light, beautifully done.

Personally though, i would have taken the shot from the level of the performer, since the colors, lights and material of the building are helping, and create more of a focus on the perofrmer. This might have made the Arch difficult to capture completely, but i think it would have helped relay the situation better.

but then again i am more of a people photographer, i tend to go for the person rather than the whole (i'm trying to change)

all in all though, good effort!

PS: Wish i could have been there too...I know in Europe there are tons of opportunities for shooting street performers...
