    getting ready

this is a cross post...from Viewfinder...something about this photo really appeals to me...and well I just wanted an opinion on whether in this particular case...whether something being this blurred is still o.k.

without knowing the story can you tell what's happening---does it look like movement or just a crappy/blurred pic. Just wanted some thoughts to bounce around in my head...the only thing that bother me is the person behind her...I wish there was nothing to the background...Thanks

I wasn't trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time.
I didn't think of myself as liberated, and I don't believe that I did anything important.
I was just myself. I didn't know any other way to be, or any other way to live."

I like this, Natalie. I think it would have been even better without the other person in the bg as you stated. It would have kept it more simple and effective, but I do still like it as it stands. It has a real feel to it. I don't feel I can offer you any critque or thoughts for improvement on this, but just wanted to tell you I like it

I can't say I dislike it, but neither can I say that I like it. The point is, I've looked at it for 2 min and I still can't make up my mind. Someone wrote in an other thread; "I like it when an image grows on me". I agree, but some images take too long to grow on me and then I move on, before I tend to force myself to see things that are not there, because then they can lock me up in the "Crazy Artists" department of a nuts house.
I think you either like this image or you don't. Personally I don't have an answer and so I move on.

Is it a Formal that she is getting ready for and you are trying to show the lateness they are and all the action that was going on in the CAOS.

    I don't know....

    Hey Nat!
Looks like you are putting that new camera to use!
    YES!
I think that this photograph would be more effective if it weren't so tight in on the girl.
So that you could see a bit more of the environment she was in while she was getting ready.
The motion is effective, I just think it doesn't show enough as a stand alone image to tell enough of what you wanted.
