    Gear Shift - Self Portrait

First one of these I've done with the Sigma SD10.

    Thoughts and comments are appreciated.

The gallery version is a slightly different treatment with a frame as well as sizing.

    Hi,
I like the idea of overlapping the gearbox with the reflection. The idea of gear shift literally and picturally makes sense.

Zoom in enough (on the gallery version) and you can see your reflection in the stick as well. Double selft portrait! Very cool!

I like the one in the gallery as well, for what Dan said (that "double self portrait"). Every time I look at it I have re-orient what I am seeing because I keep missing that it's a reflection in a window. Great image!

I like how the mind switches back and forth between the surface of the window and looking at the scene through the window, you can't comprehend them both at once. Excellent shot

my mind can't comprehend this shot. Haha, it took me about half a minute to even realize what I was looking at. great shot though, and i guess the sd10 really does capture amazing color.

Re: Gear Shift - Self Portrait

Yes, Paul I have thrown out more than a few where I didn't want to be in the image! Some years back I found a couple that worked and have since tried since to make one or two of these when the right opportunities exist. I believe I've only posted one other one here, and that in the gallery.

Gary, Chunk, Dan, and Brent -

I appreciate the comments and compliments. Gary glad to hear you think it is an effective self portrait.

The whole idea of reflections and layers appeals to me. I like to do this with just the camera when possible.
