    Gate

This is a gate to get into my neighbors field

The magic of photography is metaphysical. What you see in the photograph isn't what you saw at the time. The real skill of photography is organized visual lying. - Terence Donovan

    Re: Gate

Too saturated, too processed, and too tightly framed. Those were my initial thoughts. i like the subject and especially the shadow thrown in the mid day light but i think the entire composition should be opened up more so we get a chance to see the rest of the fence running into the distance. Also, opening up the framing will allow more of the shadow into the frame which is most interesting. The sky and field look very nice, but we have too much contrast and saturation going on.
I want to see the vast open field beyond the gate. . .

    Re: Gate

Consider this an echo of Gary's critique.
You also chopped off the corner of the gate.
Can be a nice shot if you open it up more and less contrast saturation.

I am the dissenting voice. I love high levels of both contrast and saturation. I find the shot fairly appealing. Probably right that the crop is too tight.

Blue is my favorite color, but not this much. Fence, snow, trees... - TF
