Stay with this one Dray. Weird and wonderful.
Brilliant geometry everywhere from the jawbones to shades to shoulders to background. The architecture of the sunglasses and the panelling behind is great.
I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
Great work, great tribute to symmetry. I must ask, exactly how long did the necklace take you to set up? Is that as-shot necklace or edit? I'm curious what the gray is on the left and right, I find it distractin, why not a tone like the rest of the wall?.
This is pretty cool, Dray. I love the symetry as others mentioned and the high key artsy/fashion fine art style aesthetic and processing is wonderful. The reflection of the ringflash? in the glasses works nicely in giving a sort of weird bug-eye but intriguing effect.
I was also wondering about the panels washing away to gray on both sides, but honest;ly the effect is neat and goes with the whole look.
Really nice!!
Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to try this again.
Phil - haha, don't I wish.
Anbesol - not too long. You can kind of see that it's still not perfectly symmetrical, but we did our best.
The blue-gray is actually paint on the armoire.
Don - a constant-source ringlight and some messing around in Photoshop. But the original image looks more like this than you would think. The lighting and (over) exposure are a huge part of it.
Thanks Tom, Mandagrl, Gary, and Greg.
I'm sure I'll be revisiting this idea. The image quality would stop me from using this take for anything, but I like the basic feel of it.
