    Fungus.

I found these fungus on a tree branch lying on the ground. I placed it on a plant where the sun light shines on that particular spot. The tall trees kept the light out in the background for me to create a dark background. C&C will be very much appreciated.

    Re: Fungus.

I'm surprised you haven't had any comments on this photo yet. I think it's pretty cool and I think you did a good job of setting it up so the lighting worked in your favor. The light on the inside of the fungus really shows their form nicely.

There are two things that struck me right off about this photo. The first is that I wish there was something in it to give me some idea of the scale of these growths. Part of it is just curiosity but the other part is the critical editor wanting some reference in the image. Next time see if you can include something that gives an idea of the scale. I'm not sure what, but something.

The second thing is that there's too much dead space at the top. I like what you dead to get the empty background and control the light. However, about 2/3 of your photo is just wasted space.

Thanks for sharing. Overall I think you did a good job and I think it's a cool photo. I encourage you to reshoot it if you can and try to strengthen the composition. Hopefully, the bump my comment gives this post will get you some more attention

I also think it's a pretty cool shot and agree with John's comments. In addition to those I think stopping down a little more would have been better. The one on the right is just slightly out of focus but would look better sharp I think. It's not out of focus enough to become background so it just appears as not quite sharp foreground which is distracting.
BUT the fungus is cool and I like what you did with the available light. If you can I'd love to see another attempt keeping the things mentioned here in mind.

Glad that you gave some valuable advice here. The fungus are quite small. Not sure if I have the opportunity to reshoot these fungus. I'll think of something if I have the chance. Thanks for your comments.

Nice, I kind of want a closer shot of one of them though.
