Nice idea and even a nice view of the area but.....

The sky is crummy, you are too far away from the kids playing in the sand (and there is a trash can between you and them) and the image is too contrasty.

There's too much gloom and haze and not enough sun or fun. Try to avoid the trash cans and please re-shoot on a prettier day.

I will look forward to seeing more of your work!

sadly, there seems to be quite a bit of sensor dust in the left and center sky, too

    Re: Fun In The Sun

Well, the input above is from people who really know what they are doing so I'd heed their advice and I couldn't challenge their advice.

That said as an amateur I like it or at least the feeling it portrays to me, having grown up around beaches, but I'd change the following:
    1) Crop about 2/3rd of the sky away
    2) Crop out the rubbish bin on the far right to about a touch before the bin behind the lifesavers shed
    3) Crop a bit of foreground sand out
    4) Try colour boost

    Cheers, S
    Shootme...

    Re: Fun In The Sun

Thanks for all the responses. The idea was to frame the lifeguard house so that the lines in the background all lead towards it. The kid is running towards it as well as the trash can pointing the way like a marker.

I like the colors , there is some dust i know, I added a bleach process to it. I think the big sky adds to the empty feeling of being at the beach , which comes through if it's a big print.
