    Fun with Photoshop Filters

Okay, so I've been wondering how some pros have been doing this effect since I saw an article in Digital Photo Pro about George Fulton. And yesterday on the Popular Photography website they had a sample and a link to Topaz Labs website. I downloaded the trail version and have been rummaging through my photo archives looking for shots with cloudy skies, ground and people. This is what I got:

I like it a lot for now -- I'll probably tire of it next week though. I don't know if this is what he uses or they just found a way to duplicate the effect. I think I'll really start playing around with the filter and layers now and see what I can really do.

    Re: Fun with Photoshop Filters

I spent a bunch of time the other day messing with filters and got some stuff I like though its not my usual thing.
I think yours is pretty cool. What did it look like before?

This is the original file -- not messed with. I like the graphic feel that still looks like a photo.

I like it..any way to tone down the lower left greenery..Only thing that takes away IMO
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!

I've cropped the image a little to reduce the greenery at the bottom. I think that part is better -- but the blown out sky seems more noticeable.

Lots of fun just to play around with images. I like your results, good look without going overboard.

    I love this photo.

Fantastic use of Photoshop. Much more dramatic and intriguing then your original source photo, everything jumps off the page in a pleasing way. Nicely done.

It's called Topaz Adjust by Topaz Labs. It's on sale right now for $40.

I wonder if i can mimic that filter on lightroom, it almost looks possible... great shot, beautiful with the filter. This may be unusual but I would like to see less sky - to me, it's too toned. The focus is on the biker, and I want to see him in the majority of the frame.
