I like the very subtle colors. The composition and focus are great. I like the placement of plant and how the background has the tree line to give the plant a nice back drop.
This photo is easy on the eye
I would have liked to seen a little light hitting the plant, maybe to gve it more detail and sparkle...but then you would have lost the nice sunrise.

    Good work on this. Cheers.

I like it too, but am curious how it wouild look with ETTL II fill flash, that way you could light up the plant ut save the background.

Here is one source for ETTL-II and how to use it.

Great shot MJS. I wouldn't change a thing to be honest. I love the tightly cropped shot, and the beautiful yet subtle colors. Maybe a tad more, but I do enjoy saturation.

    Well done.

Great subtle colours mjs, good composition and I like the way you threw the background out of focus..I agree with JS..I tiny blast of flash would have given more contrast to the icey foliage and left the background undisturbed..

Not much left for me to say as everyone else has already said it! I love the detail you captured in the frost. Looks like tiny little hairs. Fabulous shot!

    Re: Frosted Morning

Beautiful Mike. I hope you are done taking frosty morning pics for this year though. I didn't manage to get out on a day with hoarfrost this year. If you have to be cold, those are the best mornings of all.

Have you noticed that there have been more Queen Anne's Lace pics around here lately? I think I'll post another, although it will again be eclipsed beauty wise by this one... maybe Sebastion will give me another star.

Thanks for the kind words Chunk. So this is Queen Anne's Lace? I never knew what this stuff was called before. I too hope we're done with the frosty pic for a while!

Yup. Here it is in its summer plumage, along with some Goldenrod.
If you smell the broken root of the QAL you'll find out what family of plants it is in.
