    Re: Front Range Trail

    Hi Drew,

That is a nice capture with focus and exposure and all. But, I have a couple suggestions.... For this subject, I'd look for something stronger going on in the bg -- such as an approaching storm on the horizon or something. Also, the subject looks to be a road/trail on a constructed embankment. For me, the natural contours carved out by mother nature are more pleasing to stare at.

    Just my humble .02...

Dear Drew. I go stright to the point: it works wonderful for med. It's simple and clean, the way I like my photos. But I'd like to come with a suggestion: putting the camera on the floor, or going closer to those hight plants might have given a better, stronger perspective.

All in all it is per se a beaultiful shot.

Best regards from the cold north.

    Drew,

Perfect shot. Very well done, and I love it! I wouldn't change it at all.

    Nice eye for composition,

Drew, I can't say the subject matter does a heck of a lot for me, but your end result is very dramatic and more than makes up for it. Was this a custom print? Tweaked in PS? The tones and contrast are very nice. Kudos to making that happen, whether it was on-camera or off.

Tim, I probably should have popped on my red filter (I think I didn't have it with me ;) ) to make the clouds stand out a bit better. And I understand about the color issue. Not everyone likes black and white .

Erich, thanks for looking and commenting. Thanks for the suggestions on perspective. I will try it next time I get the chance. And greetings from the warmer climes of Colorado .

Jared, thanks for the comments. Glad you like it.

McMadCow, I know the subjects don't exactly inspire great thoughts , but I was going for more the perspective lines on this one. A study in perspective if you will. And not this isn't a custom print. The only tweaking I did in Gimp was a slight levels adjustment, and a small amount of Unsharp Mask. But this was just to get to look more like the original than anything else. So yup, mostly in camera.

    Thanks for all the comments.
