    A frog and a caterpillar

    Ok, photos from a short hike just up the hill from my house. Let me know what you think of each shot, since they arent what I usually have to offer.

    I like the caterpillar! It's like it is announcing fall! I would have liked a bit more DOF to have the entire leaf in focus, though.

    My only problem with that is that I was using F6.3 and the shutter speed was already down to 3. Lighting is amazingly low in the woods. I'm just glad the caterpillar stayed perfectly still for the shot as it is.

    I like the caterpillar one the best.
    Im not sure I like the big plant in the first one... it really takes away from the frog.

    All that is gold does not glitter,
    Not all those who wander are lost;
    The old that is strong does not wither,
    Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
    From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
    A light from the shadows shall spring;
    Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
    The crownless again shall be king.

    I'm really diggin' the Catapillar shot. The warmth in the colors make it very pleasing to the eye. I think I would like the frog picture more if it were cropped, focusing more on the frog, and less on the vegatation above.
