    Re: freezing cold

I really like the idea of this shot. Must have been cold seeing as the water is beginning to freeze. My only critique is I think it could be a little sharper, and the sky looks a little overexposed. Maye try a lower iso and a smaller f/stop for a little more DOF. I notice you are using spot metering. Are you metering the sky or the trees? Evaluative metering can work well in these types as shots as well. Snow scenes are a challange and a favorite of mine.. Overall nice shot, wish I was there looking at it.

Beautiful scene. I like the many different types of trees and their textures. I do think it would be better to pick a shot that does not show the white sky. - TF

What a beautiful place! I really like the composition here. I find the curvature of the water/shoreline very interesting, as well as the variety of the trees. As suggested, with a bit more sharpness and a little less bright sky, this is a WOW photo.

    Franco,

I agree that the DOF needs to be increased if that is possible. The composition is very strong in that the tree line draws your eye to the bridge and the shoreline does the same. I shoot film and would have liked to take several shots at different speed and apature values. Over all I think this is a very worthy photograph.

    Hello,
actually lacks sharpness, are the first shots taken with my new D300S and I have yet to assess its potential.
The light was measured in the center of the image with the feature spot. I am convinced that if I used the function MATRIX balance of light was better.
As for the weather conditions I can say that the day was overcast and mist, so the sky was really gray
I greatly appreciate your suggestions which I shall treasure. Anyway I took some other pictures that show you shortly.
    Thanks and Merry Christmas

I love the texture of this photo, I like when a photo can be "felt". I agree with it needing to be sharper, but its a beautiful set up. Well done

Hello, you're really nice, but I think that even with a big set-up can never become a good picture, but in the database of the best that I have posters soon. I will like to hear your opinion.

I see the signature that you are passionate about bikes. I was young I owned a Honda 450 motorcycle then .......... I am married and my wife did not like the bike.
However, I continued to use a Harley Davidson of my nephew, then he too is married and farewell motorcycle
