    Forgotten Bridge

Here's a different angle of the" Old Bridge". Renamed for a friend, who swam in the now gone creek it crosses as a child. The busted rock was once a dam. I also tried to bring out better details in PhotoShop...

    Greg,

This is a very interesting subject but the images have too much contrast on my monitor. Not sure if that is just my monitor or in the image/scan reproduction.

    Re: Forgotten Bridge

The first image looks good with a wider view of the bridge and trees but the second seems muddy and not as interesting. A little PS goes a long way.

Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

    Re: Forgotten Bridge

Greg, definetely a good subject. I think what you need to do here to improve is to include more of the scene surrounding the bridge, and place the bridge either up in the top third of the frame or the bottom third. I would try standing along the dried up creek bed and allow the scene so that the dried up bed leads up to the bridge at the top third of the frame. Another thing that is very important is the lighting. This was a harsh light from what looks like early to mid afternoon and it causes too much contrast and hot spots. Try doing it in the very late afternoon as the sun is going down, or early in the morning before the light gets too bright. Use a tripod if the light is too low, it will pay off with a fine image.

    Thanks Gary,
This would be an easy reshot. I can tell I need more detail in the rocks.
