a forgotten bridge

Here is a bridge that my wife and I came across while riding yesterday. We were in that area today and decided to take a couple of photos.

We used a Powershot A80 on a tripod. My wife used the sepia mode. What do you think about the different angles?

First off, I think the quality of the images are not helping the pics any, but this is typical of how a point and shoot camera will take a landscape shot like this. I think the Sepia tone pic is the keeper of the two as the angle from which she took this shot really brings me into the scene looking at this footbridge.I think it could just use a little help with a bit less brightness, and a little more contrast.(or if you are familiar with photo editing to a degree, a "curves" adjustment would help nicely) The other shot is looking to dead straight at the bridge so as if you didnt tell me what it was , I might not have been able to make it out.

I am wondering if you could have taken this picture at a different angle to make the bridge more obvious. If it weren’t for the title I would not have guessed what this was a picture of. The color one works better for me because it makes it easier to pick out the bridge. I am wondering if this might work better with a wide angle lens up close to the bridge so you can blur out some of the trees and things that I find distracting in the photo. I think it is probably a good subject but I think you might want to consider trying this one from different distances and angles to make the bridge stand out more. It also might be nice to see a bit of where this path is coming from or going to. From these pictures I get the impressing that it is a bridge to nowhere (maybe that’s why it was abandoned?).
