    Re: Forgiveness ?

    really like both photos

the first one makes me believe there is fog in the room , the guy wearing the hood really goes wit the mood, not the pants and shoes

the light rays in both images are great

I agree with the attire issue, but these are great overall. I'm always hoping to find myself somewhere decrepit and dimly lit by the windows...for the photo op of course, not just to be there.

    Re: Forgiveness ?

I literally couldn't see the person in that first photo. At least until I set the brightness to 100% on my monitor. Interesting pictures though, what were the settings? Tripod? Forgive the rookie questions. I might have passed up taking a pic in those conditions. The beams of light pouring in the windows gives it an spiritual feeling.

Yeah, that's some bathroom! Some in the world would feel lucky to have that much though.

    Re: Forgiveness ?

I prefer the second shot by far.
I just don't feel that the setup in the first shot works at all. It's all too clean and clinical and lacks mood or atmosphere. This shot needs to be dirtied up.
    Just my two and fourpence.

Agree w/ overbeyond. First shot seems far too sterile, and at a BARE minimum I'd lose the white stripes on the pant/shoes and the white socks - though I love the streaked light (spray Pam to get the effect?).

I agree with Tom and Jet, the second shot is very interesting for its colors, lighting and mood. the first is very posed and sterile as well as being a bit too dark overall.
    The second is a winner.

Second shot is better, but the HDR overprocessing in the first one gives it a great fantasy graphic novel feel. I do like it. Needs something omninous in the room to add to the mood though .

I think the attire is okay...what if he just went out to jog or a walk and suddenly, got the urge to go into the church... any attire is fine... it conveys realism.

tell me guys, what attire should one wear to pray... a tuxedo? ... a sunday suit...... why?

    Re: Forgiveness ?

Great work as always VM. I still don't understand how your shots come out this sharp (you explained your PP steps before, but I just can't get mine this sharp).

    Some comments:

    - Both are well done, but both could use minor compositional tweaking. I want to see more space behind the fellow at the top and a little more space below the bath tub in the second. Both seem a tad tense with the subjects that close to the edges.

    - I think the top one is a neat concept. But it is almost ruined by his dress .. WAY too informal for such a scene, imho..

    - The bottom shot is very sterile but works from an artistic point of view. But I am bothered by that doorway/column in the way on the left It is often unclear whether we should crop things out - I personally try to maintain the 3/2 ratio - it may be a better shot here if you do crop.

    - I think the low contrast in the top and the higher contrast on the bottom BOTH WORK! hats off to not going with a formula and doing what's right to create the mood you want.

    - The subject (the fellow) in the top shot might need a tad more illumination, as my eyes still seem to hunt for what to look at. But it works from a not-what-you-expect angle, too.

As said, very good, very professional work. When you start teaching classes or seminars on this stuff, hold a space for me.
