    Forest Path

    Liked the layers in this one. Starting to get a better handle on controlling the light and shadows in the forest I think.

    I find the composition with all its verticals nicely offset by the path quite pleasing. I think the image is hurt by the out of focus tree in the foreground taking up a large portion of the frame.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Thanks mb, so would you have gone with focusing on the tree, less of the tree, or similar but greater dof? I tried panning left some but it was on a ridge and it just didnt look right.

    I think you should use smaller aperture and slow up the speed to get all the detail there..maybe with a tripod

    I would have gone with a small aperture and slow speed on a tripod.

    I like it a lot but agree with MB that the focus on the foreground tree spoils it.

    Thanks guys. Thats what I was thinking. Finding more and more I wish I had a tripod even for relatively simple shots.
