    Food Glorious Food

I posted this image in another Forum to demonstrate simple lighting..A Canon 580EX flash was bounced out of a 45" white brolly set high and slightly to the right..I took a meter reading off the background and over exposed that reading by 2/3rds of a stop...

    Mmmmmmmmm,,,time for dinner!!!

Wow! That's fantastic! Your composition is wonderful! I love the bg being simple and light. Really makes the colours of the meal stand out.
The least you could have done is tell us who cooked it and what the meal is! Looks like some sort of fish to me. Enlighten us please Jurgen

It is a prawn/barramundi (barramundi is a fish found in Northern Australia) combination..It was shot for the resturant's menu....And yes,,I did get to eat it,,perks of the job!!!

Nice photo! Good sharpness and composition. The only thing I would have liked to see is more saturated colours. Damn! I'm hungry now.

More saturated colours would have looked Photoshopped and made the noise in the background more prominent.

I played around with the levels and dodging and burning some areas...I like the compoaition but it was lacking some punch for me as far as the colors and textures were concerned...my two cents hope you don't mind---I haven't been here in while-- but this caught my eye---hope it's still o.k. to show samples of what you are talking about---in no way am I trying to use or abuse your image

love to see other angles or shots...

Also---cloned the tire fromt he car in the background(just quick no awards to be had there! and wondered if you could rotate the original image a few degrees clockwise---o.k. that's all..

Not a problem Natalie..Rotating the image either clockwise or anti clockwise would ruin the verticles of the pepper and salt mills..It was difficult enough to ensure everything was kept in perspective..
