Focus Stacking ....

So, I did this a while back ...5 macro images focus stacked into one with much more of the shot in focus than usual ...any thoughts?

Very sharp indeed. There are a few spots still out of focus, but, from what I understand, it would take more than five shots to accomplish complete focus. Did you use a focus stacking program? and which one?

How does it work, and is there a FREE program to try it out to
see how it works, and any tutorials describing it, and how to go about
learning how to do this?
