Foamy Surf SF Skyline In BG

I like this image and am going to put it on my website in an album, before I put it in, how should it be cropped and what other suggestions have you got?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: It'll be better quality when on my site.

    Hey Mr. Y,

I'm looking and trying to figure where that is. My 1st guess is Sausolito shore looking at the City. But, something doesn't look right. My 2nd guess is Ft. Mason looking down twards Van Ness/Acquatic Park. That's the old fire department saltwater pump house at the base of Muni Pier, but that road up the hill should be steeper. So, I'm going with my first guess (because the City is so small). Help me out with the puzzle.

As per the photo, it's not that sharp (probably due to the downsize for web). Composition wise, it's nice that you caught that breaking wave to give the image some dynamics. Did you try stepping back some and using a longer lens to increase the relative size of the city? May not work at a fast shutter due to DOF issues.

    Nice shot,
    Tim

Nice shot. I might crop a tad off the left, but it is fine as it is.

Hi Yuck... You might want to add a little usm.. the foamy stuff seems a little soft to me.. Also, the rocks look almost black on my monitor.. It is calibrated but still may just be me. If you could bring out some of the color and form in the rocks and a tad contrast on the waves it would have a little more punch. An interesting crop would be right above the clouds... will bring you more into the pic... just a thought. Nice photo as is also!

This was taken from close to the Presidio, about 200 feet from that building under the bridge as I recall.

To get an idea of how sharp it really is, I took that with my Canon A510, Superfine Compression, and at 2048x1532. (I saved it in fireworks at 640x480 jpg and 80% compression or something like that)

My album is 100% quality JPG, 1024x768 large, 640x480 small, and 200xWhatever's to scale thumbnails.

I'll see how that crop and contrast you suggested when I get home, (I'm in class right now..hehe)

    BTW: what's USM?
