Hello Gary, you catched great lighting here. I enjoy the constrast betwen the omnipresent stones and the lively flowers. Your composition is very well thought.

One question, do you perceive the area of shadows at the right as being nearly solid black (minor few details?). I find shadows areas in most pictures that I see (including several of yours) to be darker than they used to appear on my newly calibrated monitor. This is more of an observation than a complain (I like what I see here) but I was just wondering what was your intent with this picture and your "view from within series" in this regard.

    Beautiful and quiet.
My nit pick in this wonderful shot is the left edge. I'd shave it so the edge comes up through that black window frame. I know that clips a bit of the stone on top, but I think that's worth have the edge less distracting. I like the flower seen dimly through the windows.

I like the old feel of the stone, I don't mind too see the dark interior at the RHS and I don't mind to Hardly see the dark pots on the floor......But I do mind to see the modern window glass mixed with the beauty of the sone object

I like the contrast here, of the cold, hard rock and the little flowers. Nice shot, and I don't mind the dark black on the right.

    NIce shot,

    Thanks all for the comments.
Seb, yes the area on the right, while it is not truly black, it appears for the most part with no detail and dark. You could call it black, as it is very dark with no evidence of anything there.
This is not part of my "view from within series" it is merely an image that caught my eye for the contrast of hard stone and soft flowers and the great lighting falling through. As for the hows and whys of my "view from within series", I have just gave a statement about the project in my last thread called " two for your thoughts" as Brian had asked me what is the mindset behind the project.
    Thanks again for your time
