    Flower pictures???

A friend of mine has an old Canon AE-1 camera that I am testing out. Here are some pictures that I took with it. I have not done much in PS to them short of darkening them some. Wal-mart tends to lighten everything to much. I shot these pictures with 80mm-200mm, cheap, lens. The only other lens was a 50mm. I used no filters or tripod.

Are they scans from prints? They almost look grainy or textured.

They are prints. They are grainy. It must be the 80mm to 200mm lens. I was going for a more artistic than standard look.

Keep on trying, soon enough you will get the perfect shot you wish to have. Do the basic first and use PS later on.

Mornin Gary - they do look artistic! I think I like the look. They definately aren't the typical shots. HAGD

Thanks, I will keep at it. This is to much fun, but also harder than one would think. I do try and stay away from PS, I just use it mainly for crops.

I use PS mainly for crops as well - cause I don't know how to do much else with it! LMAO I would like to learn to do more with it - but I strive for photos that stand on their own. It is nice for some things - like last weekend the father-in-law got married and the photographer had people standing at a strange angle to the bright, full sun. I was also taking some shots - on my own - and most of the faces were over shadowed so I was able to lighten them and saved some rare family photos.
