    A Flower for Old Timer

I thought about Larry's last post here when I took this one...
Let me know what you think of the crop at the top? Not sure if I should take off a little more or not.

Great shot, Greg! i like it. A simple and really fine subject of the flower in the old window.
It could stay cropped like it is, but it might help cropping from top to just above the arch with a bit of space between arch and edge.
    Nice work

I like how the window is centered but the flower is just enough off center to give it some dynamic.
    Nice shot.

I love the composition. I'd like to see the curtains and red brick color popped a bit. Well done.

Re: A Flower for Old Timer

Seems very nice on the whole, but the flower is too small to take the main billing. It seems as if the title should be: "Really Awesome Brick Window for Old Timer", "...oh yeah and a flower."

But it is a very cool shot nevertheless.

Look at me criticizing other people's titles....

    I like them both.
Next time try and get some more of the building.
Make it feel as though it's bearing down on the subject.
    Look through a glass eye.
    Give it a few tries.
Nothing goes right in its time.

This is very nice Greg , did you think about cloning out that post thing behind the center flower ?

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

Re: A Flower for Old Timer

Thanks again Gary a horizontal crop never crossed my mind but it is an interesgting idea I may explore. Thanks Frog, thanks Hexnut, Dag I agree I wish the flower was a little bigger and it even crossed my mind to enlarge it in PS ,thanks. Thanks snoid the old building is somewhat of a run down college frat house of sorts and has lots of character. Yes Pete I did think of cloning the post I may try that too. Some great ideas all thanks a million.

I'm afraid that I'm the contrarian here, but I like the original - more specifically the thin row of bricks right at the top. I think they help to offer some framing. I like the flower in the window idea, but I also really like the textures and the geometric shapes provided by the Window and bricks.
