    Re: Flower of light

I like everything except that the back petals are blown out. Not sure what you could have done. I usually shade flowers with my own body or whatever is handy if the light is bad but then you may not have gotten the good light for the closest petals.

i like it. kinda does look like its emitting light from the inside - was it just light angled perfect inside of it?

What kinda' light do you prefer for the closer pedals Frog? Just curious, trying to pick up as many tips as i can -

    Re: Flower of light

Thanks for the critique. This was an experiment with fill flash using a macro-zoom lense.220mm zoom to be exact.Focus distance was approx 14"
Settings:Manual fill flash at 1/8 power level. Maybe I should have tried 1/16th now that I look closer.
The flash overexposed the back petals and yes, the afternoon light was as you say "angled perfect".
I'm here to learn as well.

    With regards,Rick

    Re: Flower of light

I prefer the composition of the first image, likely because the nice verticals aren't turned at the bottom.

I have no problems at all with the color, contrast or lighting.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I like how the flower looks like its glowing. The back petals could be in more in focus. I like it Good Job.

I agree with MB, but a little tight at the top. Fine shooting Rick.

I agree too. The first image is so graceful, curving like a fine vase. It reminds me of the tip of a fine paint brush.
