    Florence Cathedral HDR

:-) More shots of this trip to come.. gotta process 1350~ of em. Will post in viewfinder.

This one is my favorite HDR I shot. Critique please. :-)

Sorry for the big shot, but it really has to be viewed big to see the detail.

    Re: Florence Cathedral HDR

I think the sun flare is working well here.
The tones are good and the hdr worked fine.

Question: What is that black thing protruding from the cathedral, just leading off frame on the right? Looks like something modern on an old edifice.

I know it's a HDR, but I think the brightness of the cathedral itself could be lowered. I think that would make the shot looks more natural.

    Re: Florence Cathedral HDR

My only guess to that thing coming off would be some sort of a catch for anything that might have fallen from the top of the building, but I'm not sure if you could even go up there.

Heres a re-do of the shot a little bit darker with some adjusted levels

    second edit does look better.

My wife thinks that thing is a scaffold for cleaning...good a guess as I can make.

I like the second shot a lot better, the colors are richer. It is a great shot, but I soooo love HDR

    Re: Florence Cathedral HDR

It is a nice shot overall but I am not sure about the way the top of the building tilts down on the right side. It sort of bothers me, though I admit that others could argue that it gives it some flare. Speaking of flare I do like the starburst but do not like that sun flare up there. Finally I would work on making the sky darker and richer, like a strong polarizer effect. Nice detail in the building.
