    Floating on the water

Back to one of my favorite hiking spots, the "flooded forest" as I like to call it. Had some cool light today and made the grass and lily pads look like they were floating. Not sure how well the shots of it actually work though. What do you think?

    Re: Floating on the water

Very nice, but I wish it was even wider to take in more. If you zoomed in, next time try shooting it wider and then cropping out the excess top and/or bottom.

    Re: Floating on the water

Number #1 doesn't work for me. Perhaps a vertical featuring one clump of grass and reflection.
I do like number 2 a lot. Lots going on with light and shapes there.
I don't think the wider one works as well.
    Keep Shooting!

    Re: Floating on the water

Hmm. The added parts of the wider image are not as good as the zoomed, I see. But I still think it has more potential as an ultra-wide image.

Hope you don't mind that I played with it here. I think it a larger version was posted, with greater res, that it would make a good impression.

your 1st shot of number 2 offers the best abstract of not quite knowing which way is up..theres no clear horizon...nice overall bokeh

    Re: Floating on the water

Thanks GB I never mind playing with any image I may post in the critique forum. I like how the water and the bushes in the background look on yours but, the lily pads look a hair blown out They ended up being pretty blown out in the originals. Took a bit of editing to get them back. Here's one last version I took. Not so much emphasis on the lily pads, more of landscape shot but, I liked the reflection in this one.
