    This is a good shot CF.. I like the angle and the dark sky. It is somewhat busy with all the structure behind the plane, but I think that makes it different from another 'plane' shot.

    I have yet to step on this carrier btw. GB

    Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it very much. Yes, the background is busy I wanted to use the unique opportunity of the Midway. You should go and tour the Midway, it fabulous. I was not in the military so this is an engineering marvel.

    It is pretty wild how they can assemble such a monstrosity of metal like that. I was put on an aircraft carrier for 10 days as part of my job a few years back ... quite an experience. LOUD on those things with all the planes taking off and landing..

    The tour takes you through a great deal of the ship. It is just beyond my ability to comprehend the engineering to assemble something that large, considering all that this ship does and make it work. I heard a statistic yesterday while touring, the ship burns 100,000 gallons of diesel fuel a day. A day! The fuel tanks aboard ship hold over 3 million gallons.
