    Flashback from Brooklyn

Here is a photograph from a shot in Brooklyn NYC in early october 2005. I never got back to this series until recently...

    Comments are welcome.

    Nice image Seb,

I like the B&W quality with the color door. Show some more from this series when you get a chance.

I like the lack of color in this one Seb. It makes the sign stand out more. It almost appears B&W. Did you do this on purpose? What was your subject? The sign or just the small size of the police station?

    Thanks guys,

Jim: I'll see what else I have.

Greg: The color treatment was on purpose. What was the subject? Well everything that you see here! lol I guess that I was mostly drawn by the door but I simply meant to isolate a part of the building.

Don: Well, I couldn't quite judge about this as I only went in Brooklyn once but it appeared rather clean for the most part.

I don't know Seb. This one isn't doing much for me. I look at it for a second and I've seen it all. Just doesn't grab my attention.

Leels: That's allright. It can't work for everyone all the time (actually, I would ask myself some serious questions if it did!). Thanks for commenting.

    thisisbenji: Thanks.

Seb, I know this scene! Glad you finally got around to processing these. This is good. Strong composition and the subdued colors create a pleasing aesthetic. The graffitti sprawled beneath the police sign gives a bit more to the image than just pleasing to look at. Good Eye for a subject. ( I think i was shooting my Seaside shots while you were at this. looking forward to getting together again. Keep up the good shooting . . .

Gary, I knew that you would dig that shot but then, you might be somewhat biased, which is fine with me... lol
Indeed, you were working on the Seaside as far as I can remember.

Thanks Christian! This is my old aesthetic so to speak as I haven't shot these kind of scenes in a long time. It's interesting to come back to these earlier photograph though.

    Seb,

I really like this shot - especially the colour treatment.

Am I the only one that the tilt bothers. I just keep wanting the door frame to be parallel with the frame.
