Flare show

A-10s provided a flare show today, it was hard getting good focus on them as they flew by so fast! If I had autofocus the Rebel XTi would hunt focus and miss the shot. With manual focus it was a little better, but with the speed they were flying by I had to pay attention to panning and composition besides focus. Tough job! Enjoy these:

Are you using a filter?
I like the vortex off the wing tips in #2 & #3 but the ghosted flares are a little distracting.

As a matter of fact I was using a Skylight filter, I always have it there for lens protection. I never actually thought it was the filter that was causing the light ghosting, when in fact that is quite obvious! I thought it was some internal lens element that caused it. Also, I could have easily cloned that out on Photoshop... Thanks for bringing it out!
