    A Fish

    Hey guys,

It's been a while for me, but I thought I'd thow a few against the wall and see if they stick.

These are all of my own pet fish, shot in their tanks.

I like that last shot. The composition and square crop go well in that one. The subject "expression" is great!

Like people, perhaps move your flash more off-camera to keep the retinas from glowing.

Beautiful! How large are your tanks??? I have only a 23 gallon and I'm trying to figure out what to stock it with. So far I just have my starter fish (guppies) and a pair of Synodontis Petricola's in there. I was hoping to stick to West African fish. Any suggestions?

John, good to see you on. I think the top image is best, but would have liked a bit more dof. I find the angle of the fish with it's eye in strong focus, and the low distraction bg works well there. Keep it up

Nice to see you posting here almo. My faves are the first and last shots. I like the fish filling the frame and the angle in the first and the composition in the last shot is perfect.
    Great shots John.
