Thanks a bunch, Frog. I downloaded the Photomatix trial software, and I know just the scene in a cypress swamp to get the bracketed exposures and give this a try. Then I will send it to one of the magazines to see if it comes across alright and they can use it. If so, I'll buy the software.
I had a bad experience once with an editing software that "sharpened" my images and looked great on the computer, but when I sent them to a magazine, what they got had a heavy green tint to the whole scene.
The problem with some of this technology is the recipient must have an ability to read it as well.
