    First submission...

...with my Pentax K10D. I like the bubbles of light in the BKGD.

Chunk, that seems to be a camera alot of people have their eye on ( or eye in already). I also like the bubbly shapes soft in the bg. The colors are good. I'm not sure this picture has enough of a definite subject to look at, but the composition is pleasingly balanced with a nice overall aesthetic.

It's all a bit surreal and I feel like I'm looking into some strange insect world. I sometimes see an actual insect lost and tangled up in the mayhem.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

Great bokeh! The background is really interesting, lighting also creates some interesting colours, just not altogether sure what I am supposed to be looking at.

Thanks Gary. What I was trying to capture was the feeling of a little micro garden on top af an old tree stump.

Thanks Tom. Hope you get that seeing bugs all over thing fixed.
This was down on an insect scale so I guess it is appropriate to feel it here.

Thanks Herriot. I was trying to get a feeling of a little microgarden on top of this old stump. Hope that little shoot manages to get a little bigger this year.

nothing seems to be propely in focus.. just a technical thing but its spoils the picture somewhat.. a smaller lens opening or getting closer would have helped pull the idea off..

    Re: First submission...

Chunk - I like how you shot this one from a low angle. It makes me feel like I'm a bug and this is my world. Excellant (!) I agree that there doesn't seem to be any part of the photo in focus though.. not sure if it's a camera shake thing or what. It could be that your autofocus was confused. Or maybe it was a near-sighted bug?

The composition is wild on this pic btw. I like it overall but wish the stem on the right wasnt clipped off. I think the circles in the background are creative and artsy, but I wonder if they would be good in every situation -- eg might look funny if you were shooting a corporate photo of someone (but who does that anyway?).

Have fun with the new Pentex. Haven't used one since the K-1000.

Thanks GB. I'm really enjoying this camera since I've been making do with more affordable P&S's for the past few years.
