    First Sand

This was my nephew's first time at the beach. I love his expression, but I really wish there were some beach toys filling in the bottom right....thoughts welcome

Interesting expression. The three umbrella's are a good pattern to balance the image, however, as you said, there is lack of interest in the entire bottom right quadrant. I would suggest you try a crop with the kid and only one umbrella, in portrait. At least, I think I may have shot it that way if it was me ...but, just a thought. Overall, I still think this is a keeper. If I was the kid, when I grew up, I would like this shot of me :-)

i remember your other shot from this location. or at least i think it was you. i like the umbrellas. they add to the photo. i think you should clone out the head below the umbrella though. it's kind of out of place.

I like the way this young chap looks as though he has managed to inter two sunbathers...

I agree with cloning the head and also maybe the dock behind his head. I find it to distracting. Gotta watch those BGs. You could have used a touch more space left and bottom. It also could use sharpened some. If you could have done it over I feel that moving slightly to the left and putting the boys head between the dock and the building would have framed it a little better. When I take shots like this I pay more attention to the BG than the subject, not a good thing all the time. But try to train yourself and it will start being a natural part of your routine.
