    First RAW with PP

These are a few from today. As most of western,Wa. is still with out power I went down to the local beach along Puget Sound and shot a little bit. Please pay attention to the PP. We never lost power at home, work place and alot of places still out. I am grateful.
    Thanks Jimmy B

The flying dog is a cool shot. Too bad you couldnt zoom in even farther and get him to fill up the frame. The bottom shot I find interesting also...... I like wintertime at the beach shots, when there's less people around and you can feel the energy of the ocean (sound).

If you have a larger resolution shot of the dog, trying a crop and post it. I would be interested in seeing it.

Thank's for the input. Here is the dog cropped in abit. I wanted to leave the stuff at the bottom and top. If you look above the left ear there is a rock the owner/ handler was throwing.

still a shame u didnt frame the first shot over to the left and get the other dog in the shot.. i like the crop but without the other dog it just looks like a dog in a totally weird unnatural postion.. the picture has lost its meaning..

a great crop but still a failed picture.. at best a damage limitation exercise.. he he

Problem with shots like SuperDog is that when using AF you're almost always on the centre AF point (usually it's the fastest and most accurate) and so your composition ends up centred as a result.

    Re: First RAW with PP

yes hard shots to capture which in some ways is why when they are a success they become remarkable pictures..

a more tele intended successfull shot of the dog would have been a remarkable picture.. merit points for a nearly there first attempt..

de-merit points for the fake crop thow.. he he

i am afraid i am seeing too many small useless crops being presented as successfull photographs for critique..

sorry if my comment might not go down well but its how i feel..

I agree with it being too bad the other dog got cut off. Especially given the tongue expression going on. I like the emotion of the last shot though and prefer it overall.

    Jimmy,

Try just one photo per thread because I think the last two photos are being ignored and they to me are wonderful in their own right.

The first needs a bit of a crop from the bottom and a little from the left so that it gives the impression that the people are walking towards the stones. and to get the horizon off the centre line.

The middle photo I like a lot and would like to see a tad more sky to see where the light/cloud in the centre is coming from. Hope you make sense of that.

Dog's I love and this is a good one but the others have said everything.
