    First Critique

This is my first time posting Photos in a public forum for Critique. I am likely an intermediate level Photographer... but this post will surley confirm or deny that I am using a Panasonic DMC-FZ20.

The last is my favorite, though I'd like to see a little less water and a little more sky.

The fourth is a bit washed out, too much light. I do like the composition.

#2 would be improved without people. They make it too busy.

Thanks for posting. I'm new here too, so welcome to the forum!

The first is pretty dramatic with the yellow.
I agree on #2. Too busy with people and their backs.
#3 could be interesting with some sort of focal point.
    #4 ligting is too uneven.
#5 is nice with just a tad too much water.

I like number 1, but I think I would give it a vertical crop to get rid of the building on the right.

I agree with the others on number 2. It would have been much nicer without the people.

I'm not sure about number 3 and 4, I kind of agree with Frog.

I really like the last one a lot. I like the amount of water, and the reflection of the lights. I wish I could see that picture larger.

The beach and city at night both really jump out at me. I think a slightly tighter crop might make the aerial beach shot a little stronger. There's a good focal point in the little red point. But I think you need to tighten it up to make it work. Right now I get lost out in the blue water. Try a little crop and see if it helps.

The panoramic is very nice. I don't think it's a masterpiece but it gets and holds my attention. I'd like to see it bigger. Did you stitch it or is it a crop?

You've made a good first impression, I think. Some people have to be patient in order to get this much of a response. You obviously have a good eye for color and composition. Glad you're sharing it with us. Hopefully we can help you tune things up and refine your skills and style. And I'm sure you can help us too. Everyone's opinion counts

The Panoramic is a crop, and the original is a lot bigger. When I uploaded, for some reason the website limmited me to 640 X 640 only. The actual picture is 2558 X 780.

I took the Aerial Photograph in Guam from a cliff called, "Two Lovers Point". The picture doesn't do the real thing justice, but I loved how the colors turned out (you can't beat Tropical Islands for color).

    Thanks for the Advice

I would love to see the panarama in its original size. Do you have a website you could upload it too that wouldnt reformat it?

    Try here

    http://andrewsgalleryii.fotopic.net/c1130944.html

The full sized version had a bit of an artifcating problem due to the amount of editing I had to do to it (My Camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-20 tends to be pretty noisy with low light) and a lot of detail loss due to the noise reduction I had to apply to it. I hid the problem a bit by reducing the photo size from 2400 X 800 to 1700 X 600 (aprox.). I think it is still large enough to please.

Except #4 which is a little plain, I think they're all quite good. I relly like the bottom shot but I like all night shots (usually). This one is pretty. I'm not sure if I would elim any of the water... I might have even increased the water (???). #1 is well balanced, but I wish there was more interesting reflections. Overall, some very solid photos.
