    Re: first camera, first pics

The leaf and scateboard (from the top) shots are well done. The remaining shots have promise but have a few technical issues, such as blur, lack of focus, etc. But not bad for a start - esp the scateboard photo. I would have tried to pull my foot back a little more to keep it out of the photo, and also straighten it up (it's a little rotated). I can see what you're trying to do with the water splashes but there's the issue of background clutter. Try zooming in closer for starters.

Good first photos, and welcome to the board. - GB

    Hi,
I like your unusual perspective. As GB mentions, some shots require better technical shooting skills.

Unfortunately, I don't know the capabilities of the Fuji Finepix 1.0 (seems you have to be a camera salesperson to keep up with them nowadays). Does it have manual operation capability? That is, can you set shutter priority, aperature priority, and/or manual mode? If so, you can control the depth of field and shutter speed. Also, can you manually focus it, and what kind of zoom does it have?

If you cannot control the shutter speed, I would say that you must get a better camera to try shots like you did with the moving subjects...
