Yo, I think you have great exposure for this scene with so much contrast.

I think the blur may be out of place here, I get the feeing of being relaxed but the blur indicates action...kind of a contrast to me.

    Anyway, just my thoughts.

    Thanks for the comments, guys.

u suck, yes it is intentionally added. I've gone down a different path with this one...

Chris, thank you for your critique. I wasn't sure how the image would be perceived and I hadn't thought of the contrast of relaxation/motion...

Tuna, I gotta say-- I'm in love with this image! it's an excellent idea that you executed very well. To be fair, however, I must say there is a distracting cluttered feel to the scene. It detracts from the blurred head effect and makes it harder to pick out the one motionless woman. I got the gag right away, but someone else may not... Otherwise, this is way cool.

    Re: Focal Point

Thank you for your comment, Outdoorsman. In a way, I'm glad that you mention it may be difficult to pick out the effects I have done to the image. I wanted them to be distinct and, eventually, recognizable. But I didn't want them to be over-the-top.

In a way, I was tempted to post the image without any effects but something in the way the subject stares at us, the viewer, struck a chord in me. It's a look I see, in different manifestations, as I take pictures of people - and others who do street photography may have similar experiences. So, delving into a bit of surrealistic juxtapositioning of in-focus/out-of-focus, I attampted to portray ("focus" on) a more expressionistic presentation of the image.

    Thanks again.

I got it right away and thought it was awesome. In a world dominated by themes such as romance, wildlife, etc., it is nice to see something different now and then. Have you ever done any "bad" work Tuna?

Yes, I know the feeling. When someone has that certain look, you just get mesmerized.
So what was the PS technique here?
