    First ...

First post in this forum, first (well, almost) shot with my new D90 (here with 50mm f/1.8), first time using Photoshop (PSE 8). I was playing with exposures with the white-on-white and this one was a stop under. I posted unprocessed in a different forum but then used PSE to brighten, up contrast, auto level adjust and sharpen a bit. Comments appreciated!

You got the whites white without overexposing and all the colors and tones look good.
I wish his ears, hindquarters, and feet were all there.

Yep, excellent exposure. Nice blue tag. It almost wants to make me not hate dogs.

Nice tones and lighting, I'd have recomposed along the lines of Frog's suggestions, or just done the head and shoulders.

    Re: First ...

Good suggestions, thanks! I was exercising the f/1.8 and shallow DoF, so the full dog shot wouldn't have worked too well with that; I like cropping to just head and shoulders but think I'll reshoot to get the ears all in for that.
    Thanks again!
