    Fireworks

We had some fireworks last night and I took some shots. I was hoping to have a little more light in the sky, but it just got too dark. Nevertheless, how did these turn out? What should I do different when fourth of July rolls around?

    Thanks,

    PC

IMO they turned out really good. Composition is excellent, shutter speed was good

I'm glad you included something other than fireworks in the sky. Not the most interesting foreground but even what it is adds much interest to the excellent capture of the fireworks.

    Re: Fireworks

Thanks guys. I originally started with a wide angle trying to capture some people in the foreground, but it made the fireworks themselves too small. I even tried firing the flash on a couple, but I wasn't happy with the way they turned out either so you don't see those.

I also tried various shutter times and ended up around 8 seconds, but that also ended up too crowded on some shots.

Wow. They look very nice. The second one is just exploding with color. (Pun intended.)

Good to hear you tried lots of different things, far too often, I stick with one thing, get to the computer and find that all my shots look too similar...

Frog said it well, the foreground adds a lot.

Looks good, around 8 seconds is right.
You got the mortar shell lift trail nicely on the palm shells.
You had good conditions, with the smoke blowing away from the burst.

    Re: Fireworks

I think my next task will be to remove or tone down the car in the bottom right corner and maybe combine a couple shots to see what it looks like. Anyone have some tips to get rid of the smoke?

    Thanks,
