    Hi Emily,
The DOF works here. I wish the front posts were a bit sharper. Just my opinion, I guess if the eye is led to something interesting with the blurring posts, the photo would be better.

    Re: Fence posts

A little too soft. I feel it would work better if really exaggeratedly blurred. Sometime when there's not an element that ties everything together or a really defined visual center, or point of interest, a good photo can be made with an impressionistic bent. Then the whole photo is uniformly soft or blurred (intentionally or not).

Theres something sticking up from one of the posts toward the top left center that I find distracting. I want to know what it is, or why it is there.

The composition is good, I just have some differences in the decisions you made about how the final photo might be presented.

Hope this is not overly critical or presumptious as to your intent.

Drg...thanks for your critique on this! You don't sound presumptuous or over-critical at all. Both you & Yoyo make good points about the softness in this, and I appreciate the feedback.

I really love the angle of this photo. That and the lighting is great!
It kind of feels empty though, like something is missing I just don't know what.
