    Fence in Montna

Taken in Livingston Montana where the better halfs family is located. 40 minutes north of Yellowstone, dang I need to get back soon!

An excellent simple shot of that slice of Americana that's seldom given much credence in photography in 2009. At first I thought maybe the color should be saturated a bit more but, in telling the story of a fenced in area of Montana countryside, I think what you have here is perfect for this provincial setting.

I will also say that I love the centered fence post in this one --- it works for me.

I like the texture of the grasses and how you really filled the frame of the photo, but the centered post is bothersome.

Thanks everyone! I am going to crop some of the left side out as I agree, it may look a little better with the post not so centered. Here is a few more from the trip. Have a wonderful day you all!!!

db - I see why you centered it, as to get some wire on the left to give it depth, but try cropping out some of the left side and see what you get. I don't like the aspect ratio as is.. I feel that there should be more upper or lower area and that it feels 'clipped off' as is. But perhaps that's because I expect a 3/2 ratio. A polarizer may help darken the sky btw, and add some drama.

I actually like your other posts even better. The day care one is great except too little area below the chairs. in general, they may all be a tad cramped/clipped. I would give them a little more space next time.
