    Feedback on portrait shoot please

Spent Saturday down in Olympia doing a portrait shoot. The mother loved this shot and wanted a bit of softening done in pp. She wanted it to look more "dream like". So I added a bit of a softening filter to it. Here's the final product. Feedback is always welcome. Thanks.

Good stuff. Floor posing is hard, Perhaps cropped a bit tight on the right - that barely at edge of pants thing doesn't do to well at the crop border. Personally I'd rather have seen the young girl looking at you. Still distracted by those creases on the backdrop. The folds on the bottom are fine as they aren't straight-lined creases. You've gotta be using f/5.6, right?

ditto about the backdrop, funny how I noticed it actually. The soft focus looks okay to me. I would have rather had the girl looking at the mother or you.

I would crop this to lose sight of all the blue jeans.

Wow a really nice shot well done on this. For me I find the mums face is too soft, maybe it could have done with a touch more facial light and less to the young girls right? Otherwise I think it's just great. Crop out what you can on the jeans and blacken out what can't be cut. S

I would add a touch of warmth to them, as their skin tone looks a little cool. I read an article by a professional photographer that said to always err on the side of warm skin tones for model (and portraiture) photography. I would also crop a bit off the right side, as her elongated position looks out of place with her mom, whose position is more lined up. The softness is OK, not sure what it would look like w/o it. Good brightness in the areas that count. Nice expressions, though I may have liked it better if the daughter was looking at you (the camera) or directly at her mom. Anyway, successful shot and I bet the woman will like it a lot!
