    Feedback on portrait shoot please.

Spent this past Saturday doing a family portrait session down in Olympia. Feedback is always appreciated. Thanks.

The client loved this one and wanted a bit of softening done in PP. So here's the finished product.

I would have angled them a little diff so you can see more of mom's face - thats a lot harder than it looks though I know. They look way too close to the backdrop, and the backdrop has straight-folds present all over it. I would go for a softer fabric that doesnt leave folds like that i.e. muslin. Good light coverage especially considering mom was looking down, good color too. Would like to see one of them looking at you as well.

    How did you meter it?

The backdrop is my biggest concern with this one. Maybe try ironing it and rolling it up on some pvc or something to keep it from getting so wrinkled. That being said, I think I am seeing too much background maybe cropping to just about the knees so eliminate some background(wrinkles).

I like the compositon of you portrait. I might have lit the Mother's face a bit more but as a priint it must look great.

I think the composition is great, but as stated I'd have liked to see a tad more of mum's face and a bit more light and contrast. Maybe keeping that composure but getting a bit lower yourself to capture more of mums face? But who am I to say, never done studio portraits before and I'd give up my day job if I could take a shot like this. Cheers, S
