    Farm Equipment

Hi everyone. Obviously new here. I have been a Photo Buff for a long time. I just got a new Sony DSC H-1. I went out the other evening for a few shots and caught some great light. I am very partial to farm equipment. Please tell me what you think.

    Re: Farm Equipment

Kevin, welcome to the forum. I too like farm equipment and surroundings, especially the older, vintage stuff. I like your subjects here, and I like where your going with the compositions. The thing that i find with these shots are , imo, that you are a bit too tight on the framing. i would back off a bit and allow some more space with all of these. The third shot of the High pressure pipeline is fine, but I would like more dof ( depth of field) so i could identify a bit of whats there in the background (bg).
I like the 2nd image, but think that backing away a bit would help. Also, it can use a levels adjustment in that the sky is a weird color.
The 1st image is a great subject,, but again a bit too tightly cropped and also the bg is a similiar color as the subject which does not allow the subject to stand out as it should., This might look quite good in b&w .
I think you might have posted 4 images here, but I'm only seeing 3 right now.
Look forward to seeing more of your pics

    Re: Farm Equipment

Thanks for the feed back. I did get a little happy with the zoom that day. I was experimenting with the camera and just about all my shots had a shallow dof. I thought the sky looked a little strange in the metal shed shot too. The shed was pretty shiny, and I think that messed me up a bit.

    Again, thanks!
