thats some good lighting and colors. might be a small lack of subject to keep my interest for long. and the sky is blown out. but other wise its great.

I guess you might have had the sun just to your right, hence too much light top right. You might try increasing the ISO to say 800 in these situations, since the subject is far away (the line of trees) then you'd probably get away with it, then just jig the foreground with software. S

You might try burning above the tree level to darken along the top of the hill. From the tree line and below the image looks good.
Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

Like other have said sky looks a little blown out may want to try using a polarize filter or a graduated ND filter to help darken the sky.

Fotomama -Welcome to the forums. I like your shot here, but I think a few tweaks would make it even better. I might up the contrast just a tad to give it more punch, but don't overdo it. I am not sure with the distant background there: I like it WRT it giving the photo a third plane, but it seems too washed out and uninteresting to add anything. I tried a crop by scrolling the screen and the photo seems better off with it gone (though I do miss the 3rd plane). Finally, the detail is a tad lacking in the foreground, probably due to resizing.

Hope to see more shots - we don't get colors as good as this in the Pacific SW.

I wish you had shot from a lower viewpoint to include some larger plants in the foreground, as it is everything is pretty far away from the viewer making the image look flatter than it actually is.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Fall in PA..

Fotomama, I just got back from a wedding in upstate New York last week and the folliage was simply amazing. Northern California doesn't offer much this time of year and I took soooo many pictures. The one thing I found when I was trying to get a good landscape picture is that as I was flipping through them they all looked the same. I think your shot here is stunning, you just can't beat that color. For me personally however, I found a lot of the pictures I took last week were more rewarding with some sort of particular focal point. Maybe this is just me being a newbie especially in the landscape department? I found a barn, a particular tree, etc seemed to make my pictures pop more. Even a shot of your girls playing in the leaves with this as a background? Just my thoughts!
