    Fall Harvest

    Thoughts? Suggestions/Tips?

I can see that I lost the sky, most of the photo's taken that day the sky looks white. It was at the start of sunset, so later photo's are of pink and purple sky.

What if you were to crop the right side off to the right of the near trees and crop the top off to get rid of the sky? This would also move the combine from the center closer to the upper right Rule Of Thirds intersection position. Love farm country in the fall! Your farm? - TF

That blown out sky is a real problem here, it makes the rest of the image seem really dark by contrast.

Also the composition would be better if the harvester wasn't in the dead center of the frame.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I agree with both previous posts and think you could improve this as suggeted by placing the combine in the upper left quadrant, thus eliminating the sky and placing the subject in the rule of thirds space. Anyway, felt compelled as a fellow Hoosier to weigh in.

I do think this is a pretty good image worth working on.

Thank You! I did bump the contrast a bit.

Nope not my farm, this is just down the road from my house thou! Went for a walk a few weeks ago to get some fall photo's.

So something like this for the crop? He still seems a little center, probably shouldn't of zoomed in as much would of gave more room to crop.

The edit's much better. I think a longer canvas (say, 2:1 or 3:2 instead of 4:3) would be better. I don't see the original anymore so I don't know how much you have to work with, but you could take off some of the foreground to get the look or just add in more to the left and right (and keep the tractor at the right third)

Its almost as if you don't "see" the trees initially . . .

Centering the tractor aligns the photo with that exactly, the tractor. . . I think the real possibility here is the trees . . . either that or do more linearly with the crops themselves. Would not have guessed the sun was setting either . . . good subject though . . .
