    Fall at the Falls

Tried to find some Fall color without going up into the mountains. Shot at Whatcom Fall Park in Bellingham, WA

    Re: Fall at the Falls

I think this business of long exposures which make flowing water into misty haze has played itself out frankly. I would to see some photographers willing to show moving water as it appears to the naked eye--with structure in the reflections and little flecks of sunlight.

I think the shutter speed is just a bit too long here. The exposure is blowing out the highlights and kills the detail in the moving water. 1/4 sec will usually do it.

I like the composition. A lot.

I do also think the flowing water has been overdone a little. It needs to be a really good photo to pull it off.

    Re: Fall at the Falls

I like the composition and detail and color in the foreground, nice job. I do agree however that the waterfall is overdone, but if I had taken this shot I'd be patting myself on the back. S
