Nice work. I think the saturation is just a bit too strong over all. I think by toning it back selectively with an adjustment layer that is painted to expose just some areas could help this image a lot.

    Re: Fairyland

I like the composition and the natural beauty that is easy to see. Very nice sharp shot with lots to offer. It does seem, however that the shot has been taken mid day, and balancing the exposure of the land objects vs. the sky is extremely difficult to do. There are portions of the sky that contain blown highlights and there is some lens flaring in the upper right that I don't think adds much to the image. Here are 2 suggestions I would have - and perhaps you did both of these ...not sure. First, try using the polarizing filter to darken the sky. You can even think stacking a polarizer and an ND grad, to calm down the sky. If not, a 3 exposure bracket would be good here. You can combine them in software later as a composite, or you can go with an HDR. This will help even out the tones.

    Re: Fairyland

Nice scene. I agree the processing is a bit strong, but I like the way so many competing things are happening and all seem to work together. The left side mountain frames things well, and the right side does it's job. You can see interesting stuff in the distance, and the calm water in the foreground really really adds to the shot! Seems like a fantasy.

One thing besides the ultra processing: if you look close you will see the water dipping lower in the center of the image than on the sides. A little distortion possibly - if you have Photoshop, you can correct this with their lens distortion effect.

I think the lake is a big part of this beautiful scene and perhaps a tad more of it wouldn't hurt.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

The lens flares gotta go! The exposure is excellent, very interesting composition. The color balance a little too cool for me, I think a warmer color temp would look more natural.
